Homemade Burger Buns

It's grilling season so that means all types of meat are being thrown on the grill especially burgers. And when you bite into a burger it's always lovely to have a soft, fluffy bun so instead of buying them from the store, make them at home! Yes it does require work but I can guarantee it's way better than storebought burger buns. And whenever you have dough whether it's for pizza or bread, get your kids involved and make it fun! Also, you can use this dough recipe to make hotdog rolls as well! And you if like your burger buns with sesame seeds, sprinkle a few onto each bun before they go into the oven.

Ingredients:
3 cups strong bread flour, plus more for dusting
1 cup whole milk, lukewarm
1/2 cup water, lukewarm
2 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
1 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. active dry yeast
2 tsp. salt
2 eggs, beaten

Stir the yeast into the lukewarm water and let it activate for 5 minutes then mix with the warm milk, melted butter, bread flour, sugar, and salt until a soft dough forms then knead for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic

Place the dough in a bowl and cover with cling film and let it rise for 1 hour then divide the dough into 10 pieces and flatten them into 4 inch buns

Place the buns on a parchment paper lined baking sheet, brush with them the egg wash, then cover with cling film and let them rise for 30 minutes

Brush the buns with the remaining egg wash, cover, and let them rise for a further 30 minutes

Preheat your oven to 400ºF then bake the buns for 10-15 minutes until they're golden brown

Let them cool for 10 minutes then they're ready to use to build the perfect grilled burgers
