Apple Loaf Cake

This cake is a throw-it-in-one-bowl and then bake it kind of cake (which is what I love about it). But, it also has so much flavor coming from apple sauce which makes the cake dense but moist at the same time. You can use two mashed ripe bananas and add some toasted walnuts instead of apple sauce for banana and walnut bread. And serve each slice of this apple loaf cake with a scoop of ice cream and some caramel sauce if you desire a sweet and indulgent dessert!

Ingredients:
3 eggs, room temperature
1/2 cup granulated sugar
3 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 tbsp. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
sprinkle of ground cinnamon
sprinkle of ground cloves
2/3 cup apple sauce

Preheat oven to 350°F

Grease a loaf tin with butter and line it with parchment paper

Mix all the ingredients together in a clean bowl

Pour the cake batter into the loaf tin and bake for 25 minutes, then cover it with tin foil and bake it for 20 more minutes

Remove the tin foil and place the cake on a cooling rack

Serve each slice with ice cream and warm caramel sauce
